Just submitting your URL to a search engine is NOT enough...

Our approach to giving affordable search engine submission is different from the ‘wham bam’ approach. We know how difficult it is for a website just to show up in results never mind near the top 20, especially in a crowded category. Many of the search engines require that you navigate to a particular page and submit your website from there. Also, the directory structure is different from engine to engine and it can take hours just to figure which category or section your own website really belongs to.

We don’t make wild claims and unachievable promises about getting you on top of the engines.
The only promise we do make is that we will try very hard to give your website every opportunity to be accessed near the top of the major search engines in as short a time as possible (bear in mind it can take weeks or even months just to get indexed with some engines) and to put your best interests first at all times. There is no real mystery about search engines. All of our techniques are honest, reliable and legal. It just takes time, determination and patience.

There are some who claim to be able to get you high rankings in no time at all because of some technique they possess or knowledge that they have, or amazing software that can submit to 10,000 search engines (of which 9,940 are far off places with obscure search engines with whom you do not want to be associated). These companies are misleading you. These people are preying on your innocence & trust. This is how it usually works: A business pays for a website and can't find itself on any of the search engines, so the owner gets frustrated and thinks there has to be an easy way for millions of people to find their snappy new website. Some, less than scrupulous search engine submission services, appear to offer the quick, simple solution and in some cases may get results, more often than not though, it’s the last you’ll see of your money.

Many companies offer to submit to large numbers of search engines for a fee. This approach can get your website into some of them and you may even get traffic, but from which ones and is it good traffic? Probably not. When you drop out of a search engines database (and you will every now and then because of data refreshing), how do you know which to resubmit to and when, if you don't even know which ones you are in? This is why we target approx. 60 of the top engines and directories including 23 major search engines (see list), such as Yahoo, which account for over 70% of the web traffic on the internet. If you use a particular engine that you would like us to submit to on your behalf just let us have the details and we will take care of it.

Each search engine has its own rate of recycling information in and out of its database so we check for your sites listing at regular intervals. If you are not indexed then we resubmit and we keep resubmitting to those particular search engines until you are indexed.

Since some search engines become angry if you submit too often and throw you off altogether (they see it as spamming), we only go back to them, once indexed, every four weeks to resubmit your website.

Persistence will pay off. Only when we know that you are in a particular engine will we begin to run further keyword searches looking to see where you actually rank in the results page. Then we fine tune your keywords and other elements if need be to get as higher ranking as possible.

Try this test: Go to Google and in the search box type ‘custom web design derby’ and you will see us in the top place. “Nothing clever in that” you might be thinking. And you’d be right because the word ‘Derby’, in the search makes all the difference to the listings by narrowing the results down and the results returned are less than 1 million*.

However, take out the word ‘Derby’ and just search for ‘custom web design’ which is a very broad term. Again you should find us in the first 3 results but this time we are there from 110,000,000 results - that’s 110 million results*. Now we think that’s impressive!

Lucky? We don’t think so. Return to Google but this time run a search for the key phrase: ‘affordable search engine submissions’ Once again, you will find us in the top results this time from around 4 million results*. Or try ‘professional website designers’ where we are listed in the top 5 from around 15 million results*. You get the idea! What phrase would you like us to get you to the top places with?

*At time of writing. Results can & do vary - sometimes up, sometimes down but the net result is always the same... we are very visible on search engines!

If you cannot see a listing for Online Design in the top 10 (often 5!) then please let us know since we are not aware of an engine that we have not been able to successfully index.

The Small print!

Search engine results are not under our control and we have no direct association with any of them. The engines / directories decide when and if to list you for free. However, we do believe we know what search engines are looking for when indexing sites. This is done by optimising your web site and and then submitting your site to the leading engines on a regular basis. If you feel this is not the right approach for you, you should consider paying your chosen or preferred engines and directories directly in order to have your site included in their sponsored links section. We can help you with sponsored links if you require. It is however, our experience that using the methods we employ will yield excellent results and furthermore, we are able to provide many examples to support our claims.
